[From series: Advent Calendar Countdown]

The Lord has brought us back from captivity. Our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with joyful shouting. The Lord has done great things for them. The Lord has done great things for us. We are glad.

(based on Psalm 126:1-3)

It’s Saturday, so today’s confession of hope contains a little assignment.

Don’t worry. It’s easy. And fun. And it will encourage you as you build your faith on the faithfulness of Jesus Christ.

But first, there is something unique and different to observe about today’s confession. Can you catch it?

Do you notice that instead of being merely a personal confession, this is a plural confession? Instead of “I” and “me,” there are “our” and “us.”

We. Us. Communal words.

My friends, we are meant to encourage one another by pointing to Jesus Christ and the great things he has done for each of us.

During busy times, joyful times, stressful times, and grievous times, we are called to remind each other of what the Lord has done in our lives.

I challenge you today to call a friend or family member and ask them to share with you something great that the Lord has done for them. Go ahead. Make their day!

And then share yours with them.

Don’t worry. If you can’t think of anything personal to you, take a look at Ephesians 2:4-6. Any child of God can shout this testimony through the rooftops!

So, surprise someone in a delightful way, and pick up the phone. Share from the heart.

Point to Jesus Christ!

You will be glad.
