Have you ever noticed that light has no shadow? I was 613 months old (and 21 days) when I found this out.

Don't you want to know how in the world this works? I did.

It turns that that darkness is just the absence of light. So a shadow is only a darker surface. Here's the cool part. The reason that the flame does not make a shadow is because it is its own source of light.

Think about that for a minute. How does this impact your day?

In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. John 1:4

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Not only does our Father provide us light in His own presence, He lovingly commands us to share it with the world, our family, and our friends. In this He is glorified.

He gave to us so lavishly; we can love others lavishly. Before we become God's children, we didn't have that ability. Since we now have the very source of life, love, and light living in each of us, this is not beyond any of us.

The kingdom of God is not something we go to, but rather something we carry.

Friends, we have the hope of Jesus. We can carry Him into this world. Where can you carry Him today? Can you carry Him into your apathetic coworkers? Can you carry Him into a troubled relationship? Can you carry him into something dead?

Rest assured. The Light of Christ will be your source.

Lord Jesus, when I find it difficult to love others, shine Your light deeper into me. I want to overflow with the presence of God.  Amen!

My Lord Jesus Christ is light for me today. He provides himself as the source and solution for all my needs. In Him, I will never walk in darkness, but have the Light of life. In Him, I am a light to the world. I walk into my day today as a child of light with others. Because I am so filled with the light of Jesus, I can freely love like a city set high on a hill for all to see. If I am walking in ways that do not bring life to others, then I ask for the Lord's light to shine in that place or that relationship . All things become visible when they are exposed to the light, for everything that has become visible is light. Only IN CHRIST, can I let my light shine before others in such a way that brings my Jesus glory.

(Based on Matthew 5:14, John 8:12, and Ephesians 5:8-13)
